Although NEMESIS have reportedly received an offer from Victory Records, they are currently exploring other options with a view towards recording their debut album at the end of the year for an early 2003 release.
"Signing with Victory is a strong possibility, but there's no decision yet," Erick recently told Digital Metal. "We want to branch out a bit, actually. Bulldog, Karl and myself have been involved in hardcore for ten years, so we're looking to expand. We're still interested in doing hardcore shows, but we'd like to branch out to more people."
With regards to the band's musical direction, the guitarist said: "It's metal/rock sound. We wanted to keep it brutal enough, but we also wanted it to be super melodic. The lyrics are from a different perspective, because we're older and more mature now. We want to reflect a little bit more with these new lyrics. One of the new members, Darrian, used to be in an emo band, and I was in an emo band before I joined EARTH CRISIS, so we were able to draw some melody from that background. But we still wanted to keep the sound edgy. The music gets to breathe a little bit more now, and it's exactly what we wanted to do."
